Barbara Boxer, one of those great Democratic leaders, insists that there will be no spending cuts. She’s looking for creative ways to increase revenue (taxes to you and me).
These include such marvelous ideas as taxing refineries (which will simply be passed on to us in higher gas prices) or initiating a mileage tax (yes, that means tracking our vehicle movement), but no direct tax increase on gasoline (we’d all see that and raise hell).
So, either hide the tax or further reduce our freedom but never, ever reducing spending! That seems to be the Democratic approach.
